Ayurveda Summer Recipes: Peach Rosewater Lassi with Cardamom
A western twist on the famous Indian lassi. Peach warms cool yogurt, while rosewater adds a sensual soft touch. Light, aromatic cardamom adds depth and complexity to this sweet treat. Best if prepared with fresh-ground cardamom.
Ingredients
2 pinch CARDAMOM
1 tsp HONEY
1/2 whole PEACHES
1/3 c ROSE WATER
1/3 c WATER
1/3 c YOGURT
Instructions
Puree in a blender. Garnish with pistachios on top if desired.

Ayurveda Recipes: Salmon Quinoa Burger
Salmon, rich in proteins and healthy fats, blends with quinoa for a strengthening, protein filled meal. Quinoa is rich in iron, and restores strength to deficient blood. It contains more calcium than milk, and is rich in magnesium, phosphorus, strengthening kidney yang. Magnesium relaxes and nourishes the heart and muscles, while it promotes heart function. Salt water fish in general more pacifying for Vata, together with juicy Omega 3's makes this ideal for dry constitutions.
Ingredients
1/4 tsp BLACK PEPPER
1/4 tsp CELERY SEED
2 tbsp CILANTRO
1/2 tsp LEMON ZEST
1 c QUINOA
1/4 c RED ONION (RAW)
1 lbs SALMON
1/4 tsp SALT (MINERAL SALT)
Instructions
1. Prep-Work - Debone and skin salmon. Better yet, ask your grocer to skin the salmon for you. Cook the quinoa.
2. Mince green onions, cilantro, celery seed, lemon zest, and black pepper using a food processor with the S blade.
3. Add raw salmon and cooked quinoa. Processed to desired consistency. Form into patties. Sautee in hot frying pan with a little olive on medium heat 2-3 minutes. If pan is not hot enough, burgers may stick.
